Due to shortage of skilled factory operators for agro-industries, youth
are trained in Operation and Maintenance of Agro-processing
Machinery to skill the next generation of factory operators.
Through R-YES project, rural youth undergo experiential learning for 4 months in workshops (machine tools, electrical and automobile workshops) at the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College (IPRC) Kigali and in factories of agribusiness companies.
Upon completion of the technical training, youth can apply safety and
security for industrial machine operations, maintenance management in
manufacturing industry, basics of industrial electricity, operation of
industrial machinery and equipment, perform metal work, apply
industrial heating, ventilation, and refrigeration, and apply technical and
metal drawing.
