Kilimo Trust Rwanda is seeking highly motivated youth in agriculture sector to join the upcoming technical trainings in food Processing and Operation & Maintenance of Farm Tractors and Machinery under Kayonza Irrigation and Integrated Watershed Management Project - Phase II(KIIWP-2 Project).
About KIIWP-2 Project
The Kayonza Irrigation and Integrated Watershed Management Project – Phase II KIIWP-2 Project is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources through RAB-SPIU and funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The project operates in Kayonza District and aims to support farmers to achieve food security, increase income-generating activities, strengthen resilience to climate change, and promote youth employment through structured job creation programs.

Kilimo Trust is organizing technical training for youth interested in agribusiness in Kayonza District. Selected participants will receive technical and entrepreneurial skills through agribusiness industries, Rwanda Polytechnic colleges, and TVET schools to build their skills for sustainable employment as competent employees or better service/product providers in agribusiness in the following areas:

KIIWP-2 does not charge trainees any cost during the application and training period.
Training and learning costs are covered by KIIWP-2 project.

Kilimo Trust, Rwanda Polytechnic and Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum (RYAF) are partnering in the implementation of a project titled Rural Youth Employment Support (R-YES) Project funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to build technical and entrepreneurial capacities of rural youth in agribusiness to create skilled workforce for gainful wage employment or creation of own agribusinesses (as providers of products/ services). R-YES is a 5-year project (2020-2024) implemented by Kilimo Trust in partnership with Rwanda Youth in Agribusiness Forum (RYAF) and Rwanda Polytechnic (RP) - with Integrated Polytechnic Regional Colleges (IPRCs) as training centers for R-YES project beneficiaries. In the next 4 years (2021-2014), R-YES Project targets to support 1,200 youth (50% female) from 16 districts including: North (Gicumbi, Rulindo, and Musanze), West (Nyabihu, Rubavu, and Rusizi), South (Nyanza, Ruhango, Gisagara, Kamonyi and Huye), and East (Nyagatare, Kayonza, Rwamagana, Ngoma and Bugesera). Nature of support: R-YES support will include:
R-YES is organizing training short courses (3 to 6 months) to provide youth with knowledge and technical skills for gainful wage employment or creation of own agribusinesses (products or services) related to Dairy, Poultry, Piggery, Potatoes, Maize, Rice, and Vegetables (Tomatoes, Onions, Cabbage, Carrots, Chilli, Green pepper, and French beans). A total of 300 youth who will be selected for this round 1 will use workshops, farms, equipment, tools, and facilities of the host IPRCs as well as facilities of partnering agribusiness companies.
Training costs will be paid directly to the training colleges (host). i.e. tuition fees, meals, accommodation (where necessary), training materials, and other related costs.
