Agriculture is one of the drudgery prone occupations in
Rwanda. Through the R-YES project,rural youth undergo
experiential learning for three months in operations and
maintenance of farm tractors and machinery at Kavumu TVET
School and selected agribusiness companies as the next
generation of farm machinery operators to create employment
opportunities and reduce drudgery in agriculture.
Upon completion of the technical training in Operations and
Maintenance of Farm tractors and machinery, youth can drive heavy
farm machinery, operate farm machinery in crop growing, harvesting
and land preparation, and maintain farm machinery.
